Marrott Guitars is a small shop building a select amount of guitars and basses a year.
Built in San Francisco, if you look closely, many of my headstock designs pay homage to the Golden Gate bridge.
Our world of guitars is peppered with cliches and theories about what physical attributes make a guitar special. I have always gravitated to guitars whose acoustic sound blooms and holds onto a note or chord, but also leaps from your touch with great dynamic range, punchy transients and great sustain. These are the qualities that make a guitar feel “Alive”
When you pick up a Marrott guitar, I want everything to feel soft like a real player's guitar, with rounded edges and a worn-in touch. I aim to create comfort and familiarity with my instruments, making them feel like old friends.
You dream it! I’ll build it.

Don't take my word for it, see for yourself
“I am the proud owner of the first bass Monte built. It is exactly what I spec’d out. The attention to detail and expertise Monte put into this project is above and beyond. I highly recommend anything his pair of hands builds in the future.”
– Peter Dapello Founder/Host, Bad Ass Bass Players
“Mr. Meanor Monte Marrott is not kidding when he says, ‘You dream it, I will build it’. I was one of the fortunate ones to witness the production of my guitar from day one. My ideas of what the specs, look, color, just to name a few, all translated onto the capable hands of Monte to do the rest. The qualities I love about Marrott guitars are:
-
First, it’s distinct fret board feel, like butter. It’s so smooth and fresh, yet feels like you’ve been playing it for decades.
-
Next, is the amazing tone it produces. Don’t be fooled with it’s light weight body. If you want tone, you will have TONE.
-
Also, it’s contours and tummy tuck make it very comfortable to play.
-
And lastly, the finish has a mesmerizing paint job. See it to believe it.
Over all, I’m truly very satisfied with my Marrott guitar. I play it all the time, it’s become my main guitar.”

To ALL of my guitar-playing brethren and... sestren(?)... LOL! Seriously, if you've ever considered having a guitar made for you, EXACTLY the way you wanted, down to the VERY last detail, and didn't want to settle for some "cookie-cutter" pre-fab idea of what somebody ELSE thinks is the perfect guitar, then do what I did... Order up a custom, one-of-a-kind, HAND BUILT (by one person) guitar from my buddy Monte Marrott of Marrott Custom Guitars... I *really* got to play and "got to know" this guitar for the first time, playing it over two gigs this past weekend on Friday and Saturday nights... And because of how I had it wired, I didn't even bother picking up my Telecaster... at all. I can say this with complete honesty and enthusiasm: I have NEVER enjoyed playing a guitar more. No, it's not "flawless" and/or "perfect" like a PRS or a Tom Anderson... But in and of itself, that's what makes it perfect. Simply put, it truly is the most broad-sounding, CLEAR, bold, full, and balanced sounding solid-body electric guitar I have ever heard... Period.
I look forward to making music on this amazing and beautiful piece of art for a LONG time to come... Thank you, Monte!
